The
Perth Observatory is one of the oldest observatories in Western Australia. It has been in operation for about 119 years and part of the Heritage List.
Accessible to the public, the Perth Observatory offers tours where visitors can view the universe through a selection of telescopes. These tours start at a fee of $25.00.
However, on
24 September , the Perth Observatory have opened their doors to the public to celebrate their 120th birthday. This event is free with the opportunity to participate in the following activities:
**
See our Internet robotic telescope
Kids astronomy activities
Solar viewing
Face painting
Explore our historical artefacts
Live music
Radio astronomy MWA tile
Astronomy talks**
Perth Observatory is ranked Top 100 Western Australia's Bucket List which means if this is on your list, now is the time to tick it off.
This events starts at 10 am and finishes at 4 pm with
no booking requirements. Refreshments will be sold which include a sausage sizzle, ice-cream and wood-fired pizza. I suspect this is one event that will be a 'little out of this world'.
