Why is it a secret? Because if you kids find out about all the things on this list: they will beg you to do everything on it.

Free Storytelling and Craft for Kids
Is this the holy trinity for parents? Storytelling, movement and craft? How about I add the word 'free' in front. Every Wednesday during school term, the Barking Gecko Theatre Company presents two free half hour sessions for little kids (2- 5 years), based around a different popular book each week. Parents need to hang around, and they recommend bringing a cushion for the kids, but I can't think of an easier way to entertain kids.

When: every Wednesday in June, 9.30am-10am and 10.15am-10.45am
Where: Fresh Food Court, Karrinyup Shops
Cost: free, must register prior

Going Somewhere?
Scitech's newest exhibition Going Somewhere has now opened and if you have a small child who loves noting more than plane, trains and automobiles then this one is for you. Kids have the change to fly hovercraft, control the city traffic, fly a spaceship and design your own car. If it flies or has wheels, then kids can learn about the science that makes it work. As a quirk for tired parents, throughout the space are a number of seats and benches based on the various seating in cars, buses, airplanes and more.

When: all of June
Where: Scitech, West Perth
Cost: normal admission prices apply

International Eat Your Vegetables Day

June is the traditionally the biggest month for Disney releases, because it coincides with the start of the summer school holidays for our friends north of the equator. Disney's big release this month is Inside Out, which will be competing with Universal's Minions.

Everybody Loves the Caterpillar
If you grabbed 100 little kids and asked them what their top five books were, chances are The Very Hungry Caterpillar would be one of them. While TVHC might be his most famous book, he also wrote (and illustrated in his very distinctive style) over 40 books. You have one on the shelf, grab it and read it to the kids this month.
