Sometimes, we get overworked and overrun by our daily lives and it's important to take some time off our busy lives to pamper ourselves. Whether you do it with a friend or alone for some space, perhaps you should consider planning the perfect date with yourself. Pick a day off and go do a bunch of fun and relaxing stuff just for you.

Firstly, I think it's important to make yourself feel like a million dollars. If you feel good, chances are you'll have a brilliant day anyway. I recommend you try going to a beauty salon and even get your hair done . Being pampered feels great and you're worth it.

After you're done making yourself look and feel gorgeous, you could consider an array of activities depending on your preferences.

For those who love nature

Why not drive or cab down to the La Perouse Peninsula ? Walk around the peninsula, enjoy the beautiful view and have a cup of coffee.

If it's raining, you might want to sit down and look around for some snails . If you feel like feeding some animals, maybe go to Centennial Park and feed some swans . Perhaps simply going to one of your local parks and just chilling out with a book is in order.

If you're into more organised activities, maybe you should really take yourself back into your childhood and go horse-riding or even whale watching .

For the artistic souls

If you're quite artistic, maybe you should take a painting , photography or sculpture class.

For those of you who enjoy music but never get around to going for lessons, arrange for some music classes . Did you want to be a pianist growing up?

Don't fret if you're a little bit tone deaf, you can still take some ballet , waltz or even acting classes to ease your artistic soul.

For those who love learning and just can't back down

Yeah, I'm one of those people. It's my day off and I still have to be learning something, expanding my mind somehow. You can learn a language , learn to cook or even learn to sew , which I must add really helps to develop hand-eye coordination.

For those who love shopping

If you really love shopping, you should consider running around your favourite mall and doing so. Alternatively, you could look for some secondhand furniture or even head to your local markets . If you're a bit altruistic and time your day off well, you might even catch the RedWater Markets on the third Saturday of the month.

Really romance yourself

If you're really looking to romance yourself, you could take yourself on a date to the Moonlight Cinema .
This could be great after a day out hot air ballooning . Imagine that, floating in the air above everything, out of everyone's reach.

Now this really depends on your personal preferences. You could really treat yourself and go to one of the best restaurants in Sydney . My personal favourite in terms of fine dining has to be Pyrama . If I lived in the west, I'd probably go to St Patrick's Tavern for the Seafood Steakhouse .

I love Japanese food and if you're with me on that, I'd consider Wasabi Bistro . Remember to try and get a deal for that one. If you can't, definitely try Sushi Train at Bondi Junction. The way they do their aburi salmon is making my mouth water now.

If you feel like something a bit culturally diverse, try Kazbah . Often, there are gorgeous belly-dancers there too.

Alternatively, you could go to a number of Italian restaurants such as Caminetto or Cicciolina .

If you don't really feel like spending that much on food, that's okay too. You could go for a coffee and a drink at Taylor Square at Coco Cubano . I highly recommend Pinocchio Sushi for a cheap and gorgeous Japanese and Korean fusion meal.

So there we have it folks, if you plan out your perfect day perhaps with a combination of activities - pampering yourself on the outside, taking some sort of a class to take your mind off things or even going shopping if you're into that kind of thing and having a delicious meal, you'll feel relaxed, refreshed and ready to go into tomorrow. It's so important to take that day off from everyone and everything sometimes. I know that some of those options were on the more expensive side, but it's not like you'll be doing this type of thing everyday. Plus, you're worth it.
