The Emerald PAVE Funfest is going to rock the Dandenong Ranges this April.

The Performing and Visual Arts (PAVE) Fest in Emerald has been getting bigger and better every year. 15,000 people attended the festival in 2014, and this year promises to be even more spectacular.

The PAVE Funfest is a week long event featuring over 200 performers and artists, with activities happening in the Emerald library and Emerald Community House during the week – School holidays, don't forget, so check out some of the workshops and shows. Many are free or attract a small entry fee of approximately $5. Both the Library and Community House are located on the Belgrave-Gembrook Road.

Other events include 'The Colour of Music Opening' at the Emersleigh Wine Estate on Friday 10th April, 6pm-7pm with FREE entry. Enjoy wine and cheese while listening to artist, musician and synesthete, Tracey Roberts.

Also on Friday 10th April from 8pm at the Emerald RSL, see The Dead Guitarists Society perform, featuring internationally renowned Matthew Fagan. Tickets are $15 each of $120 for a table of 10. The Emerald RSL is located at 3 Memorial Avenue, Emerald.

On Saturday 11th April, The Emerald Lake Café is the place to be for storytelling by JJ-Retailer of Tales, the Bodhram Bush Band and movement meditation workshop.

Also on Saturday 11th April - starting at 10.30am Historian Graeme Legge is hosting a Walking Tour starting at St Mark's Church. A $5 fee applies.

Stay on for dinner, but prepare for things to heat up at the Emerald Mechanics Hall with their special "Chilli Night" feast. Local bands will feature alongside local beers, wines and ciders. Places are limited. $50 per seat.

But Sunday 12th April is when the action ramps up. The hills will be alive with the sound of music! Street performances, artisan stalls, exhibitions, demonstrations and free activities for the kids.

The Emerald Funfest happens along Kilvington Drive between 10am-4pm. Entry is FREE and there will be cultural activities as well as international food, music, dance, workshops, carnival rides and market stalls.

The program is HUGE! Face painting, candle making, reptiles, circus workshop, dog jumping, tennis in the park, djembe drumming, footpath artists and three music stages.

See the Monks of Tibet working on their Sand Mandala Creation in the Emerald Marketplace, photography and art show at the Gemco theatre, or take part in the Indigenous dance workshop before checking out the flamenco dancing, belly dancers and judge for yourself at the Battle of the Bands competition.

After all that dancing and playing, relax at The Hive, a wine bar nestled behind the Commonwealth Bank. There'll be more performances there and you can enjoy a glass of wine, cider or craft beer, supplied by Emersleigh Winery.

Events continue into the following week with just a sample being the Burlesque Spectacular on Thursday 16th April, and the Happy Days Rock n Roll Circus Saturday 18th April at the Emerald Performing Arts Centre; song writing workshop on Thursday 16th April at the Emerald Community house, and wine and Jazz night at the Emersleigh Estate on Friday 17th April.

The program is a massive six pages long. For full details of all events, performances, artists and exhibitions, check out the April 2015 PAVE Festival website .

Updates are also being featured on the Emerald Funfest – PAVE Festival Emerald Facebok page.
