"Peppa Pig is coming, Peppa Pig is coming" or so my daughter keeps reminding me, unable to contain her excitement. The City of Glen Eira's Party in the Park series will this year be starring every kid's favourite little piggy. Peppa comes to Allnutt Park in McKinnon/Bentleigh on Sunday 2 March 2014, from 12-4 pm. I could not locate a timetable of events on the Council's website with a precise time on stage for Peppa, but based on the activities promised and last year's experience, there will be lots to keep the whole family entertained while you wait for the main event.



Other activities on the day include a pet expo, where you can enter your pet in the best trick or best dressed categories. If you have a dog, you can let it loose in the rabbit lure races, which are fun to watch even if you don't have a dog. There's also a range of music performances, the silent disco, live reptiles, kids cooking classes and a bunch of food stalls. The sometimes enigmatic Timmy Time is the support act on stage for Peppa. Allnutt Park has a large set of play equipment for kids, but with so much else on display, you probably won't have time for the regular slides and swings. And don't worry if it rains on the day, because that just means there's a chance of being able to jump up and down in muddy puddles with Peppa.



There is also another City of Glen Eira Party in the Park at Princes Park in South Caulfield on Sunday 16th February 2014 from 12-4 pm. The headline act for that party is the less popular Octonauts, who command nowhere near the same level of intense concentration from my daughter. Otherwise it should be a fairly similar event to the above.
