The best of Ice Skating makes its way to Western Sydney to help the people of Parramatta and surrounds kill off the winter blues. The Parramatta Winterlight Ice Rink Festival will be on again from the 27th of June to the 14th of July 2013. This event is hosted by the Stars on Ice and the Parramatta City Council.
Ice Skating is in a perfect place in Paramatta, situated right near the bus intercharge and the train station. The experience is also close to Westfields, and is right outside Parramatta Town Hall with a park, street scape, the library and restaurants nearby. A great family friendly event with a dedicated ice skating area for the kids as well.
Despite a few restaurants nearby, this festival will also have an Ice Rink bar with themed food and an outdoor cafe area. Hot chocolate is also on the menu for 2013. Eat, play and have fun. This is where winter is so cool, no pun intended. Parramatta, Bondi and the City will now have dedicated ice rinks for winter in 2013.
In addition to actually participating in some ice skating action, exhibitions will also be on. See the top emerging and actual ice skating stars in action. Held every weekend during the festival at 3:45pm and 5:45pm. Children's workshops will also be held at 11am during the week, and at 10am on weekends during the Parramatta Winterlight Festival in 2013.
Does your child/children love Disney on Ice? Allow them to make their dreams come true. Why? Their chance to meet the Disney on Ice stars on Wednesday the 10th of July at 11am. This is a key festival highlight.

Additional and optional - limited quantities available: hire a cute penguin, to help the little ones enjoy their ice skating experience: $7. As per the photo above, so cute. This penguin actually helps children improve their ice skating technique and confidence. Furthermore, these penguins have also passed safety and quality checks. However, the kids of Sydney love them, and they can only be used at this event.
The organisers advise people to book online. There are no online booking fees. Each ice skating session goes for 45 minutes. Entry to the rink opens 10 minutes before the start of your nominated session, should you choose to participate. All prices include free skate hire.
