Dudley Page Reserve

Home > Things to do in Sydney > Parks | Outdoor | Fun for Children | Picnic Spots
Published May 25th 2011

Dudley Page Reserve is the envy of all other eastern suburb parks with its breathtaking panoramic views of Australia's favourite icons; the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Centrepoint Tower.

Just a short 380 bus ride away - make sure it is a Watson Bay destination - from iconic Bondi Beach, a day at this park will leave you with an exhausted roll of film in your camera and some unforgettable memories.

So spectacular are the views that during the course of the day, sightseeing buses with foreign tourists unload with eagerly awaiting travellers that want to capture the 'perfect Australian photograph'. The park is also a much-loved vantage point for families during New Years Eve and Australia Day. The locale council organises a family friendly mini carnival on New Year's Eve that includes complimentary kid's rides, food stalls, a licensed bar and other festive entertainment, all of which is free for children under 12.

However if you are looking for fun on an average afternoon, Dudley Page Reserve offers a lot more than just a magnificent view. There is a small playground for the kiddies to amuse themselves with as well as a cricket pitch and an outdoor fitness station for all those al fresco gym junkies.

No matter if you are a child, tourist, New Years Eve partier or just an avid frisbee thrower, Dudley Page Reserve will provide you with a myriad of entertainment. However one of the more enjoyable activities to partake in is to bring a picnic and blanket for some rest and relaxation while enjoying the breathtaking view as you sip on a cool refreshing beverage and watch the sunset over the world's most attractive harbour.

It's a bit unfortunate that you said " ...a family friendly mini carnival on New Year's Eve that includes complimentary kid's rides, food stalls, a licensed bar and other festive entertainment, all of which is free for children under 12."

Kids do love an open bar.

The sentence was referring to free entry to the New Year’s Eve carnival for children under the age of 12. The licensed bar which only serves people over the age of 18, was just for parents who might want some Champagne during the New Year’s Eve fireworks. Sorry for any confusion.

No doubt it's the best view of Sydney and we always take out if towers there for photos. But it's not really a park is it. It's just an underground Sydney water reservoir
