A small group of former Tibetan political prisoners will be serving food from their homeland at the Brisbane Powerhouse on the weekends of October and November.

is part of the evolving street food culture in south-east Queensland which is linking together families and entire communities as they share good food and company.



Former Brisbane radio personality Jason Fogg, who launched the Paper Plate Supper Club in May, said the workers at Tibetan Momo were another part of the exciting street food scene."The food is extremely popular because it's excellent quality, it's fresh and it's fast. And it's affordable," Foggy said.

Doria Chia, the owner of Tibetan Momo, is excited about overseeing her new recruits at her stall after watching them battle with the anxiety of creating a new life in a new country."I'm trying this to help them have a job and promote their food and get a bit of confidence back, because if they can't speak the language, they can't get a job and they won't feel useful,'' Ms Chia said.



Stalls include: J'Adore Les Crepes, The Pretzel Nook, Wild Rissoles, Steam'd, Tibetan Momo, Fresh Dumplings, Littly Nyonya Kitchen, That Street/Malaysia Street, I Heart Calamari, I Love Paella, Crispy Potato Cakes, Cornish Pirate Pasties, Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers and many more.
