Loves being creative, spontaneous, daring and cheeky, whilst living the life of her dreams. Will be honest to admit to having a drink before noon and getting morning coffee in her pajama's...... occasionally :)

The Palace located at 20-30 Bourke Street Melbourne was formerly known as the Metro nightclub. Now - that name takes me way back. Especially if you were a disco dancer, club promoter, Dj or door bitch (no offence). Further back than the club scene, it was a movie/musical theatre best known to senior citizens, more than likely in a nursing home right now.
Although it's undergone major renovations over the years, it still has that old school theatre like appearance mixed with great lighting and a kick arse (no offence again) sound system for live music.
The Palace has seen many a rock band, rap and pop artist, world Dj's, local and international performances of all genres. Go to

I recently went to the Burlesque Ball, which saw the Palace transform into a cabaret, red light, chesterfield lounge, sit down and sip champagne kind of night. In comparison to seeing masses of heads in the way, trying to get to the bar or get a glimpse of who's on stage rocking it out. With a crowd like that, music is all you hear and drinking beer is best, as they only serve spirits in plastic cups. Hate that.
I love the location, with an array of cool restaurants and bars within walking distance and paid parking is across the road, saves driving around. Get your ticket stamped at the venues cloak room for a discount. Win.
Not only is this a great venue to see live bands or shows but it hosts a lot of industry events and private functions. Yes, you can hire this venue for whatever you want, be it a christmas party, corporate event or anything else you have in mind. Food and beverage can be catered for to suit your needs and budget. For all enquiries and onsite inspection relating to your next event call Ph. 650 0180 or email robert@palace.com.au.
