The
started over the weekend showcasing Asian foods, arts and crafts as well as workshops and performances throughout the weekend.
The festival itself started on Thursday the 24th of September with the opening of the
Night Noodle Markets.
There are many food stalls to explore with foods ranging from chicken skewers to curries to ice-cream. Some stalls have very lengthy queues but I guess the food was so good, people were happy to wait.
There are a few areas with seating but the best option may be to find a spot on a grassy area and set up your own picnic blanket.
Sunday saw the
Moon Lantern Festival begin at 4pm and a
Lantern Parade through the grounds of the Festival Centre shortly after 7pm. The lanterns were beautiful and it was clear to see that there was a lot of time and effort invested by the makers. The lanterns represented many things including places, animals and people.
The
Moon Lantern Festival was closed with a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the sky above the thousands of people packed into the grounds and surrounding streets.
If you missed all of this, you can catch the
Night Noodle Markets every evening for the rest of the week at the Adelaide Festival centre. It runs from the 24th Sept- 4th Oct.
The event is free and extremely family friendly. There are many entry and exit points with the easiest one behind the Adelaide Railway Station.
