As one of my favourite authors, Angela Carter, has said, "Reading a book is like re-writing it for yourself."
Do you love to read? If you're a book worm as I am, I may just bump into you rummaging through the many quality second-hand books at the Oxfam Book Fair happening in Eltham on Saturday 17th October.
Since the advent of digital books, reading formats are changing, but reading itself is not. The biggest pleasure comes from
what we read, not from
on what we read. Having said that, nothing quite beats the tactile experience, wouldn't you agree?
Come check out over 15,000 quality second-hand books of all types selling for $2.50 (adult books) and $1 (children's books) to raise funds for Oxfam's development work.
All genres imaginable will be available to sift through, from fiction and non-fiction, children's, teenage, young adults, to arts, biographies, lifestyle, sports, travel, hobbies, gardening, humour, cooking, and much more.
"It is a good rule after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one in between."
- C.S. Lewis
