PresCare Day Therapy Centre at Coopers Plains will be hosting the Over 50's Health and Lifestyle Expo at the Murri School Hall, Acacia Ridge. The Therapy Centre is an allied health and therapy service, working to connect seniors with the community and promote independence. This Expo's focus is on providing information on health and lifestyle products and services for the over 50s in the community and to this end there will be over 50 businesses, not-for-profit and government organizations exhibiting on the day. Amongst these exhibits will be Centrelink, APIA, Diabetes Queensland, Lifetec, Queensland Health,Vital Call and Alzheimer's Queensland.

Don't forget to pick up your Lucky Door Prize passport when you arrive! Visit 20 exhibits, get your passport stamped at each one and you are then eligible to go into the draw for some fabulous prizes. To date $3600 worth of prizes have been donated and you won't want to miss the chance to be one of the lucky winners! There are many prizes with the major ones being: a night's accommodation for two at O'Reilly's Guesthouse, a Story Bridge Climb, dinner for two at The Summit restaurant at Mt Coot-tha, a V2 Helicopter flight for two, a Glamour Photography package and a BBQ from Masters.

Guest speakers, information services, lifestyle services, music and dance performances and interactive demonstrations will all be a part of this free community event. There are many services to assist over 50s that you may not be aware of, so come along with your family or carer and discover the services that are in place to assist you with health and lifestyle matters.

This event is also about having fun and an active lifestyle. Visit the lifestyle exhibits - have you considered trying golf, lawn bowls or dancing? Watch the belly dancing and rock and roll dancing performances - you might just be inspired to take up a new pastime!

The Algester-Parkinson Lions club will be running a sausage sizzle and the school canteen will be selling a range of food and drinks. Local community radio station, FM101 will be broadcasting live from the Expo and will have free giveaways for those attending. Parking will be available on the corner of Beaudesert and Mortimer Roads - keep an eye out for signs directing you to the car park where a gold coin donation will be very much appreciated.

This is a not-for-profit event, made possible by the generosity of many exhibitors, supporters and sponsors. PresCare would like to thank all those who have supported this Expo, with special thanks to Platinum Sponsors - Computer Shoppe and Mobile Studio Photography.
