Remember going to the lolly shop or the corner store as a child and getting excited at being surrounded by the wide variety of lollies and chocolates, and where the only troublesome thing was selecting which lollies to buy?
Well,
brings back that child-like feeling.
Within the same building as Melbourne Central Station, on La Trobe Street, it's hard not to pass by this store without being tempted to stop and have a look. Taking a look in the store window and seeing all the different variety of lollies, as well as various toys and gifts delicately laid out in an impressive display rekindles the child within, no matter what age you appear on the outside.
Once you are inside the store, in every nook and cranny, there are lollies to appeal to any taste. You will also find that the store is creatively decorated, seeing the displays and the old style signs hanging on the walls.
has their own products specializing in old fashioned boiled lollies, as well as other types of candy. However, they also have a fine array of imported chocolate and lollies.
There are refined chocolates from Europe, sweets and drinks from England, and even a wide variety of Hershey's and other candy and drinks from the United States. Remember Pop Tarts, and the drink Dr Pepper? They even have them in stock too.
Additional to all the sweets, chocolates and candies are toys and teddies for the young ones – or for the young at heart. There are also products to purchase as a memento of your visit, or, you can purchase them as gifts for friends and family.
Being inside the store truly makes you feel like you are in your own scene of the Willy Wonka movie. Sorry to break it to you though readers, you won't find any Oompa-Loompas there, but you will be able to find a gob-stopper.
Make sure that you factor in to your shopping experience in Melbourne, its certainly worth a visit.
