Melt in your mouth delicacies and Eco choices
Once a week on a Saturday morning, the front porch of Ubud's well loved Pizza Bagus comes alive with organic food vendors.
Great selections of fresh organic vegetables and fruit
Although a relatively small affair, if you are looking for the freshest produce, organic skin care and natural insect repellents along with some great snacks this lovely little market is perfect.
With space for less than a dozen vendors you may think you wouldn't find too much here, however they are well chosen and carry a variety of lovely and different wares.
For those living in Bali it is a great chance to purchase fresh, organic, herbs (the smell of the Basil today was amazing) and spices along with the staples. For the tourist, for 30,000rp (around $3) you can buy organic neem or lemongrass mixtures in spray mist bottles to keep the mosquitos away.
Looking for some gifts, they have fresh organically grown coffees and chocolates and a selection of beautiful skin creams that smell like you have walked straight out of the botanical gardens.
If all these great smells have awakened your appetite, you are in luck with beautiful snacks of pastas mixed with fresh herbs, chocolate custard slices with goji berries - your taste buds will love it, you would never even realise you were eating the healthiest morsels, jam packed with body nourishing goodness.
The organic farmers market is held every Saturday from around 9am to lunchtime.
Pizza Bagus is located at Jalan Raya Pengosekan, Ubud, Bali
It is on the left hand side as you begin to enter Ubud from Denpasar (before the Monkey Forest turnoff)
