Viola's Patch showcases an open garden
I love my garden and my inspiration for projects comes from visiting other gardens, watching gardening shows, taking a walk in my neighbourhood or reading books. I certainly never seem to have enough time to do all I want to do on a weekend or a day off.

On Saturday and Sunday 29th & 30th April, all we garden enthusiasts will have an opportunity to visit Viola's Patch Open Garden. Located at 280 Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road, Bahrs Scrub, Viola's Patch is just thirty-one minutes from Brisbane. This garden was featured on Gardening Australia in October 2015 as well as The Garden Gurus, Totally Wild shows.

Parts of Viola's Patch have been inspired by the Queensland tropical islands with stone pathways that wind around mature species of bromeliads, cordylines and many rare and unique plants. Other parts of the garden display a different landscape with sun-drenched lawns surrounded by beds of perennials, salvias and hardy cottage garden plants. Years of collection have produced a garden favourable to abundant birdlife and other native wildlife.

As you drive along Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road the only evidence of this amazing garden is a wall of foliage and flourishing trees along the fence line; however visitors are overwhelmed at the beauty of the hidden paradise beyond.

The opening of Viola's Patch will benefit the Mission Possible Volunteers Inc., who are a non-profit organisation who sew items for hospitals, foster care, homeless, cancer patients, the elderly in care patients and young mothers in need. The admission to the garden is $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for concession card holders and children under eighteen are free.

You have the option of leisurely strolling around the garden yourself or you may like to take part in the informative guided walk around the gardens commencing at 12:30pm. Learn how to propagate perennials and bromeliads at the daily demonstration at 11:30am or pop into the plant sale to pick up a great buy.

During the two day there will be a Children's Competition where every child wins a prize. Refreshments are being provided by Soroptimist International so this is an event for the whole family to enjoy. Getting there, take Exit 34 from Pacific Highway travelling to Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road, where the garden is 300m past the Windaroo High School. The garden is open from 10.00 am to 4.30pm each day.
