Fremantle Arts Centre present Trevor Bly & Patrick Doherty in an exhibition of their art entitled 'One street from happiness'.

The exhibition is of experimental prints and paintings by artists Trevor Bly (WA) and Patrick Doherty (WA) and they have explored ideas of "locality, identity, spirituality and historical conflict".

These two artists have now been working together for more than 10 years and together they bring a world of contemporary art into this exhibition. They have merged two different practices, styles and approaches and this has led them to examine home, and how each person's identity comes about by both the place and space.
'One street from happiness' offers interesting visuals which speak to Perth suburbs and the artists' backgrounds.

[b]PATRICK DOHERTY**
Patrick Doherty graduated from Curtin University, and he has exhibited throughout Australia including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, and Goddard de Fiddes Gallery, Perth.



His art is very varied and he has done sketches as well as paintings amongst other things.



His style is quite unusual, and each piece of art seems to have had a lot of thought put into it as is evidenced by the finished product.



He also has gone into other media such as textile prints, however it is his art that he is most well known for. You can see more of Patrick's creations here .

[b]TREVOR BLY**
Trevor Bly graduated from Craigie High School in 1996 and had no intention of doing anything other than art. He has fulfilled his dreams of becoming an artist and is now well known throughout Perth.

He still lives in Craigie and Trevor says he has a "connection with this suburb, the spirituality you have with a neighbourhood or place".
