Looking
On the Bright Side.
Perth's distance from the rest of the world (even the rest of our country) often means we miss out on seeing some great cultural events and touring acts who only ever seem to visit the eastern states. But now it's our turn to host an awesome event in Perth even before the rest of Australia can experience it.
So if you're keen to see some top-notch musical acts, and you can't wait until summer to experience the festival buzz, then you should check out Perth's hottest winter music festival
On the Bright Side. Thanks to the promoters of Australia's immensely popular
Splendour in the Grass festival, Perth's own "mini-Splendour" thankfully does not see us starved for music entertainment during winter.
On Saturday 23rd July Perth Esplanade will be taken over by a colossal tent, aptly named the Supertop. Its cover will keep the rain out but the musical talent in, with Swedish garage-band rockers
The Hives and Britpop legends
Pulp taking to the stage. They will be joined by more of today's independent music stars including
Modest Mouse, The Kills, The Grates, Tame Impala, Foster the People, Warpaint, James Blake, and
Tim & Jean.
After the success of last year's first On the Bright Side festival, this year's can only be bigger and better. Don't miss out on your chance to grab some tickets to this event!
Tickets go on sale from 9am on
Friday 3rd June.
Please remember that although this is an all ages event there will be 18 licensed areas which require photo ID. Public transport via Transperth for the event will be free for ticket-holders.
