Even though the only butter you'll find here is on a freshly baked scone, is a Bellingen icon not to be missed. The butter factory itself ceased producing butter in 1963 and has since been renovated into a boutique shopping village and fully licensed cafe.

The original butter factory dates from 1906 and it is fun to wander through the different buildings on site imagining days gone by. There are treasures of all kinds to be found in the little shops, studios and galleries around the shady courtyards and gardens - from glass ware, 'made on site' leather goods, Australian woodcrafts, antiques and collectibles, international jewellery and unusual homewares from afar. While you're there you can indulge in a beauty treatment at Bellingen Beauty Therapy, book in for a massage at Magic Massage or sit back with a latte in the cafe. I highly recommend their Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes to help you ponder all the art and craft wares. The kids will love searching "Bello the Camel" to figure out all the recycled bits and pieces he/she's made of.

Bellingen (or "Bello" to the locals) is located on Waterfall Way , just half an hour's drive south from the coastal city of Coffs Harbour. is well sign posted as you approach Bellingen from the east. They have plenty of on site parking, including convenient coach and caravan parking bays. After lunch, continue along Waterfall Way to Dorrigo National Park Skywalk.
