Top 3 Unconventional Gold Detecting Locations

1. My first choice for finding something gold in colour, like $1 or $2 coins, maybe the odd ring, which could be made out of gold, is on the beach. Even if you are a nudist, or like the nude beaches you could always nude up and look on the nude beaches. Although there aren't any pockets for anything to fall out of. You could go along the beach when the bathers are swimming and detect over their belongings?
Where there's a will, there's not always a way.

All jokes aside the beach is a great spot, to find stuff, who knows what treasure may be hidden there? You need a detector of course, but you don't need a really good one. Watch out for needles.

Try to go after the beach goers have gone home. It's a bit difficult to detect for stuff, when the beach is full and if you do find something, someone nearby may claim it as theirs.

Take a bucket and spade, if you don't find any treasure, build a few sandcastles.

2. This is an idea that may not of occurred to you. I read something somewhere, that the shingle that is along the side of roads and used for unmade roads, has come from a quarry somewhere. It stands to reason, that it could very well have gold in it. So this is great for the lazy man's detecting method as virtually no digging is required, just a bit of scraping and prodding. I don't advise doing this down the side of the highway for obvious reasons, but find an unmade road and just walk up and down each side of the road, easy.
This isn't the MCG

The made roads have steel reinforcing as well as metal drainage pipes and stuff. Therefore it's no good detecting too close along the side of them, as your detector will buzz the whole time.

3. The last suggestion, which you've probably figured out, now you've read the first two, road works. Particularly new roads where there is a truck load of earth dug out. I don't know the legality of this option, but obviously you don't go near the diggings when they are working on it with dangerous plant.
