After the dizzying heights of last year's inaugural Halloween party, the Student Association of the University of Notre Dame Australia (SAUNDA) in association with the How I Met Your Mother Society, Rugby Club and Law Society presents the Back2Uni Masquerade Party.
To be held in the Courtyard of Notre Dame University, Broadway, on Friday March 9th, the event will be a curtain raiser for semester one, 2012. The event will run from 6pmto 9pm in the Courtyard, followed by the after party across the road at the Abercrombie from 9pm til late.
Like the Halloween Party last year, the Masquerade Party will be a very casual affair (suits and dresses not required, unless keen!) and is open to all guests; however Notre Dame students will get priority.
When it comes to tickets sales, you can purchase an alcohol/over 18 ticket for $15 and a non-alcohol/under 18 tickets for $10. Tickets themselves will be sold primarily through the SAUNDA office at the University of Notre Dame, Broadway. Get in early though, because ticket prices will rise on the day.
That's a one-time entry fee which gives you access to everything available in what will be a cordoned off courtyard, decorated with masks and fairy lights.
But what's in the courtyard you ask?
Firstly, there will be a Hollywood-styled red carpet entrance into the venue with our house DJs pumping the tunes all night long.
The food on the night will be catered by the ever popular Subway, whilst there will also be a traditional Notre Dame barbecue running throughout.
For all you with a sweet tooth or three, American doughnut giants Kripsy Kreme will also be on hand with original glazed doughnuts – be quick though, these are sure to disappear fast.
When it comes to quenching the thirst, there's an array of awesome options to choose from whether you prefer alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks.
If you fancy a beer on the night, you'll be able to pick from Tooheys New, Coopers Light and Carlton Dry Fusion Lime.
However, if you're more of a wine connoisseur, Pink Moscato and Chardonnay will both be available.
For the non-alcoholics, soft drinks will be available until the bottles run out.
There will also be prizes for the best and most creative masks on the night, as well as a door prize – meaning if you buy a ticket you automatically have a chance to win. So get creative. Don't fret if you don't have a mask cause there will be some available on the evening (til stocks last). More on that to come.
Doing their bit for charity as well, SAUNDA will be donating 5% of all profits made towards Caritas Australia.
So come along, bring your masks, your mates and yourself and welcome in semester one, 2012 at Notre Dame.
