A brisk swim in the "fresh water" of the Northbridge Baths or, a quick boat ride on a Saturday morning is a great way to begin the weekend! The unsupervised tidal baths are set within the stunning Sydney Middle Harbour foreshore surrounded by native bushland. There were boards all over with Jellyfish warnings, so we did not go into the water.

The Northbridge Baths consist of a wooden boardwalk enclosed beach area by the water offering a great place to watch yachts and, a beach with shaded sitting areas with gas barbecues. There is a great shallow water play spot for children and also, deeper water with marked lanes and a dedicated swimming area used by the Northbridge Amateur Swimming Club races and squads.

On the other side there are plenty of options for boat hire to chug along the scenic middle harbour.

The Club also runs a cafe to satiate coffee cravings and early morning hunger pangs on Saturday mornings during practice sessions, but was closed when we visited later in the day. Best to pack a picnic lunch and snacks for hungry little tummies.

Facilities: Free car park on Widgiewa Road - Northbridge; changing rooms, toilets and showers open during daylight hours; Cafe runs for limited hours only on Saturday morning.
