Living in Sydney is expensive, and it only takes one or two unexpected expenses to topple the budget. It can be a stressful and lonely experience. If you are struggling to put food on the table, ShoreCare may be able to help.

Open every Thursday morning from 10am-12.30pm, the ShoreCare Community FoodCare store provides free fruit, vegetables and bread, plus affordable groceries to FoodCare Members for a low recovery fee (conditions apply). There is also a cafe offering free morning tea and companionship.

Membership is available to low income earners and holders of a Centrelink benefit card. Registration is conducted on your first visit (please bring $10) and secondary identification (e.g. driving licence) is required. The service was launched on 19th June, 2014.

For those working during the day, the FoodCare store may be available one evening per week, by appointment. You can download the registration form online, and also see if you are eligible. Membership is $2 a year. Please don't suffer in silence. There are good folks out there willing to help.
