I can't think of many better ways to spend a gorgeous sunny afternoon than enjoying a cold drink, some good bistro food and stunning views of Bondi Beach - and the best place to do this is at the North Bondi RSL .

North Bondi RSL is located at the northern end of Bondi Beach, directly opposite the beach and right near the northern rock pool.

As with all RSL clubs, you need to sign in to enter, but entry is free if you are not a local (otherwise you'll need to become a member).

You can check out their beach-cam on the North Bondi RSL website - so you can enjoy the beach even when you're not there.

[SECTION]Bistro Specials[/SECTION]

The Bistro at North Bondi RSL serves up the usual bistro fare including a variety of seafood dishes, a selection of steaks, burgers, pasta, salads and vegetarian dishes. Check out their menu here .

You can dine inside or out, depending on your preference and weather. On a nice day, try to score yourself a table on the balcony and enjoy uninterrupted views of Sydney's most famous beach.

The great thing about eating here is that the food is very well-priced, with options ranging from $4 to $20. I can't think of anywhere else in Sydney that you can get a good meal with stunning views of Bondi Beach for under $20.

We tried the Grilled Prawn Salad with avocado, tomato, lettuce and sour cream and chilli dressing, and the Grilled Chicken Wrap with sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, salsa and fries. The Grilled Prawn Salad was delicious, the perfect light meal for a hot day. The wrap was like any other wrap, tasty and fresh, though nothing particularly stood out (though the fries were crispy and plentiful).

The $9 Specials are a great deal, with $9 steaks on Wednesdays and $9 Skewers on Thursdays (with any drink purchase).

[SECTION]Entertainment at North Bondi RSL[/SECTION]

There are various different events on at the North Bondi RSL during the week, including:

Tuesday Night Trivia: Starts at 7:30pm, with some great prizes - $50 first prize, $25 second prize, $10 third prize.
Friday Night Members Badge Draw: Every Friday at 7pm, there is a prize draw every half hour until 9pm with the winner taking the current jackpot.
Saturdays 'Live and Loud': Free live music at the club.
Sunday Raffles: Raffle tickets are on sale between 4-4:30pm, with a winner drawn at 5pm.
