The north point of Bondi Beach is the perfect spot to have a barbeque or picnic with friends looking over iconic Bondi Beach.

The beachside park has a couple of picnic shelters and coin-operated barbecues. Make sure you get there early for the outdoor cook out as the spot gets extremely busy in summertime.

Adjacent to the barbeques - the grassy knoll offers the perfect spot to watch the surf and have a sun bake on the grass to avoid the gritty sandy feeling of the beach.

In summer the place definitely takes off with parties, dogs, joggers, surfers and kids swarming.

The spot is perfect for people and animal watching - from a Staffordshire terrier bitting the shower stream whilst surfers are hosing down, children taking surf lessons thrilled to be standing up for the first time, fitness fanatics jogging along the shore, bikini clad girls playing volleyball, swimmers and sunbakers.

To take a dip the beach is just a few steps away, make sure to swim between the flags as there is a rip at the northern end of the beach. For small children there is a toddler pool to paddle in.

An outdoor shower is located in front of the park to wash off the salt and be fresh for entertaining.

If you haven't packed a picnic in advance there is Speedos Cafe, The North Bondi RSL and Wet Espresso Bar a short stroll away to feed the munchies.

Toilets and change-rooms are located nearby adjacent to North Bondi Surf Club.

To get there take the 333, 380 or 381 bus from the city or Bondi Junction. If you're driving parking can be hard to find on busy summer days and is often expensive metered parking.

For a scenic route walk from Bronte Beach along the coastal walk.
