Hidden from the public eye, until now, is a five year old boy named Noah. Unlike a lot of five year olds, Noah's world does not revolve around Noah. He loves to build houses, from boxes, but he knows not everyone has a house. This is a situation he would like to change. Join him on Sunday 3rd July at Modbury Uniting Church for a day of super fun family activities.

You may be curious to know how such a young man came to have such a big heart for helping others. I asked his mother, Kylie, this very question. She replied, 'Many months ago Noah and I were looking at pictures of Syrian refugees, children who had no where to sleep and Noah asked "Why are they on the ground?" I explained to him that their houses had been destroyed and they had nowhere to live, and nowhere dry to sleep. I reassured him he was safe here in Australia and how lucky we are.

'Noah was very concerned that there are children without a home and said he wanted to help them. I asked him how he would help. And he said "Build them new houses!" '

'Noah decided he wanted to do a special event so others can help too. He has been involved in every aspect of the planning, from which organisation we will raise money for, to poster design (all of those colours were chosen by him!) and what activities he wants to do on the day,' Kylie continued.

'Noah loves to make things and it was his idea to have an invention display to encourage other kids to make things that help other people.'

Noah invites everyone to his special event, and asks them if they can help. 'You can be 3 or 4 or 10 or 88 or any age! All of my friends, my teachers and everybody can come.'

'Noah knows that some of his friends' parents were born in another country, but it isn't safe for them to live there so they live here with us in Australia,' Kylie noted. 'Noah is a very compassionate little boy and we want to encourage and empower him, and all children to make a difference in their world. No matter how young you are, if you see or hear about something that makes you sad or you think is unfair then you can help make things better.'

'We have chosen to raise money for Uniting World Emergency relief so that they can respond when families lose their homes in various countries around the world.' You can find more out about the work they do at Uniting World .
