The Newtown Neighbourhood Centre presents the
Newtown Festival, a community event bringing over 80,000 people together to celebrate the spring season with plenty of music line-ups.
On November 8, Camperdown Memorial Rest Park will be transformed into a music mecca with the
Main Stage setup on Federation Road. It will be the hub of the festival playing a diverse range of music including rock, reggae, hip-hop, funk, soul and jazz. Bands like the Whitlams, Evermore, Sarah Blasko and the Herd have taken this stage in the past years. You can also visit the
Essential Stage for some alternative sounds or any of other three entertainment stages of the event.

And just like all festivals there will be 280 market stalls scattered about selling food, fashion and lots more. There will also be licensed bars to keep up the supply of alcohol to the over 18s which also means BYO is not allowed.
But don't be despaired that just because there are bars this event is restricted to the grown-ups. The
Kids Zone guarantees total fun activities for the little ones with workshops and events created just for them. The hands-on activities include kids yoga, an animal show, boomerang painting and cupcake baking.
Entry is free but a gold coin donation will be greatly appreciated with all funds going towards running services and programs for the disadvantaged in the community.
The best options of getting there is either walk, ride a bike or get public transport. There'll be plenty of spots to lock your bike up and to check for public transport timetables check
