What a wonderful multicultural society we are able to live in and enjoy here in Australia. From the joys of Christmas to Chinese New Year and the ; a celebration of the Kurdish New Year. You don't need to go into the city to have a great night out!

The Adelaide Kurdish Youth Society is holding its annual fire festival for 2016 on Saturday 19 March 2016 from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm at Civic Park, North East Road, Modbury.

This is a symbolic event for the coming new year and the commencement of spring in Kurdistan. This is a traditional holiday celebrating deliverance and is seen as a way to demonstrate support for the Kurdish people. The celebration coincides with the Northward or Spring equinox.

There will be live entertainment, cultural dance, food, music and fireworks for you to enjoy. The event is free to enter and there will be stalls with traditional food for you to purchase.

The event is sponsored by the City of Tea Tree Gully and the Government of South Australia - Multicultural SA.

Why not come along; wear bright coloured clothes and show your support while enjoying an evening of family fun, food and entertainment.
