Estabar is sophisticated and intimate, with a beautiful view over Newcastle beach. If you're a morning person, I highly recommend having breakfast here and watch the sun rise over the ocean (fear not late-risers as breakfast is served all day).

I recommend the bircher muesli with raspberries; it is soaked in coconut milk, so not only does it taste amazing it is vegan too! It is always busy here but if you're lucky you will score a prized seat at the window facing that gorgeous sea view. Although it can get a little cramped during busy times it is a perfect place for a date. Most (if not all) of their produce is sourced locally from farmers markets, so it's humbling to know your supporting local farmers.

On a hot day, a fruit frappe is the perfect way to cool down. They also serve the most amazing gelato; I absolutely love the mango!

Coffee

Simply exceptional coffee. Usually I try their Single Origin of the week, but today I ordered a long black from their house-blend beans. The coffee was strong, robust and slightly bitey, although I personally prefer a smoother, fruitier coffee (I usually come across at random with their Single Origin). My partner in crime ordered a double shot cappuccino, which he describes as unique to Estabar as it is stronger and smoother in comparison to double shot caps from other cafes.
