With Christmas over, and the month of December drawing to a close, it's astounding to realise that next week will be 2013. Although it's sobering when we contemplate how the last twelve months have flown by, along with the advent of the new year we can also look forward to a lot of fun festivities around the Perth metropolitan area, many of them which have been specially created to appeal to the whole family. One such celebration is the Mandurah New Year festivities, which are held annually on the eastern foreshore of this beautiful coastal city.



Beginning at 6.00pm, the program includes heaps of live family-friendly entertainment, a youth zone, and a 'silent disco', which everyone will be certain to enjoy. Of course, the highlight of the evening would have to be the firework displays: one for the littlies at 9.00pm, and another for the intrepid souls who manage to stay up until midnight.



Please remember that the celebrations are a family event, and are therefore alcohol free and drug free. Similarly, in order to create a safe environment for everyone, from 5.00pm until 1.00am Mandurah Terrace will be closed to vehicles between Cooper Street and Pinjarra Road. The Mandurah New Year's Eve festivities are sure to be a great evening out for locals and visitors of all ages. The foreshore is absolutely beautiful in the late afternoon, so perhaps pack a picnic to enjoy in the park as the sun sets. Gather your family and friends together and enjoy an unforgettable ending to your day, and the whole year.
