Narrabeen Village Markets are held by the water's edge of the beautiful Narrabeen Lakes on Sydney's Northern Beaches on the third Sunday of every month, the next markets being 15th August.
There's something for everyone at these vibrant Markets, including arts, crafts, jewellery, home wares, designer fashion and there's also lots of tasty food on offer from the many food stalls.
Irish convict surveyor James Meehan first surveyed Narrabeen Lagoon in May 1814 and marked it on his map as Narrabang Lagoon. The passing of time has certainly not spoilt the Lakes and they are still a wonderfully idyllic site to behold today.
After a browse through the market stalls, there's a lovely walk along the foreshore of the Lakes. It's an ideal place to bring a picnic, feed the ducks or do a spot of fishing (great for bream and flathead).
Or maybe you could take your bike or your rollerblades, stopping for a coffee half way along at the
Blowfish Cafe, which is out to tempt you with a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner, perfect sustenance if you plan on hiring a kayak or pedal boat from
Prokayaks. Powerboats are not permitted on the lake so the ever calm waters are ideal for this.
Located above Prokayak,
Limani Seafood Restaurant offers absolutely beautiful modern and traditional seafood plus modern Australian cuisine for lunch and dinner, with a side dish of stunning views over the Lakes thrown in for free.
To get to the Lakes, you can take the Wakehurst Parkway all the way from Seaforth to Narrabeen, turning right into Pittwater Road at the top. The Markets are held at Berry Reserve, not far down on the right.
If you're coming up the Pittwater Road, head north and the Markets will be on your left as you head through Narrabeen.
There's a car park by the Reserve, but it's not huge and fills up pretty quickly. But you will most likely find street parking in one of the nearby side streets off the Pittwater Road.
