Something exciting is happening in Narara, near Gosford, 1.25hrs' drive from Sydney. It is all about community, nature, great food, wonderful company, and having fun.
Narara Ecovillage is an intentional community which is currently being set up on the former site of the Gosford Horticultural Institute. The aim is to have a thriving community of villagers, ranging from young families, couples and active retirees, who enjoy nature and want to make their homes in this beautiful place in the Narara Valley, bordered by state forest.
Every month, the ecovillage hosts an Open Day and welcomes the public to come on tours of the village site, followed by a presentation about the background of the village and what is planned for the future. The presentation is often followed by talks on a variety of topics related to eco-housing, adventuring, nature, walks etc.
