Classic Vanilla Cupcake
Today I think I found the cutest cupcake in Brisbane. This is the "Classic Vanilla Cupcake" from My Sweetopia. (Collective awwwwww). There was a whole cabinet of sweet cuteness, but I just can't go past a pink cupcake.
This place is kinda cute all round. The serving section is only small, with a glass cabinet full of all the very imaginative creations. There's lots of tables outside though and it looks like it opens late on a Saturday night. Awesome.
Along with our Classic Vanilla Cupcake, my dining partner (and also birthday girl) had the White Passion and we shared a pot of English Breakfast.
The cupcake itself was nice enough, not as moist as I prefer, but a nice spongy texture. The icing though, I think, was made from cream. It sounds nice, but it tasted a little weird. I think I'm used to, and was expecting, a super sweet explosion of ever so slightly gritty icing. Instead it was more smooth and not that sweet, kind of like what you would put on a scone. It was perfectly shaped so I have no idea how they get it to stay like that.
That aside, the creations are truly beautiful and the service is great and pretty quick. The setting on Grey Street in Southbank is laid back and casual and a lot of people wandered over from the markets for a Sunday arvo sugar hit.
If you're a cupcake lover, put this on your list, if not just to see how cute they all are.
