My Rainbow Dreams is a vegetarian café located at Dickson shops, 10 minutes north of the CBD. This small but inviting café is owned and operated by students of Sri Chinmoy, a renowned meditation teacher from Bangladesh. With his teachings in mind, My Rainbow Dreams café provides food that is "nourishing to both body and soul, in keeping with our belief that inner and outer wellbeing go together".

As you walk in the café there is no shortage of colour about the food - it is vibrant, healthy and full of wholesome goodness. The extensive #breakfast ">menu above the counter offers a wide variety of delicious food to cater for vegetarians, vegans, special dietary requirements and for those who want a delicious and healthy meal.

This Dream Burger above would have to be one of the best lentil burgers I have had in Canberra. This authentic burger was fresh, tasty, filling and particularly "more-ish". I visited with my young daughter, who quietly devoured the freshly made #sweets ">banana bread , which was also bursting with flavour and visible ingredients. With winter lurgies in the air, we also enjoyed a #drinks ">Immune Boost Juice full of orange, strawberry, kiwi, carrot and lemon to keep the nasties at bay.

If you are visiting for lunch you can also choose between rice paper rolls, wraps, curries, soups, salads and the Bake of the Day. Another attractive feature of this light-filled café is the friendly staff floating by in their saris, delivering food to their happy customers and creating a serene ambience to the room.

My Rainbow Dreams is located on a corner at the popular Dickson shops, with other busy cafes also located nearby. There are several tables inside and outside in the sun, so you can order at the counter and your meal will be taken out to you. On our visit it was busy with local workers waiting for their takeaway lunches, as well as a full café inside, however the food was delivered surprisingly fast.

On weekends this café is open Saturday's only and it also only accepts cash - there is no credit or EFTPOS facilities available.

The suburb of Dickson is renowned for its popular Asian restaurants and variety of cafes, however My Rainbow Dreams stands alone as a colourful vegetarian addition to the suburb. With great food and unique and relaxing ambience, this café is one that I look forward going back to try another spicy burger, soup or curry. Although I knew nothing of Sri Chinmoy before I arrived, I respectfully appreciated his inspirational messages out the front of the café. With wholesome food and quotes like this, My Rainbow Dreams is sure to leave you energised and positive for the rest of the day:
