Wine Makers Without Borders is a group for winemakers who take wine to groups of food and wine lovers whether it is in shopping centres, city streets and markets to offer them something new and interesting.
Louisa Rose, Chief Wine maker for Yalumba Wines & Hill Smith Estate Vineyards descibes the group as having "a holistic philosophy that means they can experiment with grape varieties, regions, winemaking styles and different foods with people and places that ultimately share the experience."
Amanda Jane Pritchard, or Kooki as she is often referred to, from Wine Makers Without Borders says, " the idea is to take wine, especially unique and new varieties from smaller, independent winemakers to the streets. Our events always highlight regional food and wine matches local produce, and most importantly there is a sense of fun and are far removed from much of the snobbery that can be associated with wine."
It is about bringing wine to the people, from Adelaide Central Market to the Sydney Opera House to the Queen Victoria market - this crew is all about taking wine to new and exciting spaces."
