Hit up: Muso Ramen Noodle and Gyoza Bar

Best Eat: Tsukemen, or politely translated to "Muso Tonkotsu Dip" noodles

Jacket: Simply, Muso combines good music and genuinely good ramen.

One wall is plastered with posters of classical rock bands like Nirvana and the Beatles, to name but a few, and on the flipside is an illustration of a giant head with a big mouth eating ramen and somehow his guitar strings are made of noodles and it's kinda crazy but awesome.

If you're out on a date or by yourself, you can always just close your eyes, hold hands, listen to the music, and digest.

The food: If you're a gluten free herbivore who gyms twice a day, posts progress pictures on Instagram, and drinks green juices all day, then babe, this place isn't for you. Even if you were to sprinkle chia seeds everywhere.

There are seven regular ramen dishes to chose from and a new special every month or so. If you want to eat genuine Japanese ramen on the Gold Coast, then ride a donkey here if you have to. The chefs do not compromise on flavour for Westerner taste buds. There's no California sushi rolls here, guys.

Your ramen is brought out by a waitress wearing a cap and "ramen for lyfe" shirt. As soon as the bowl is set down, your stomach does a flip and your brain swtiches to sex drive but for food. Foodies, you know what I'm talkin 'bout. Tendrils of a salty, sweet scent fill up your nostrils and all you can think is "I get to eat all of this".

Okay, so you dip in your spoon and taste the broth, and it's like you're in Tokyo. Deep and complex. You swirl up some noodles with your chopsticks and they are the perfect chewy texture (Muso make their own noodles, just FYI). The toppings are just the icing on the cake really: thin slices of pork, half-boiled egg, fermented bamboo, and a dusting of dried seaweed. Everything just works. The whole thing is on top of the food pyramid but you'll feel on top of the world.

Gyoza is Japanese dumpling, and it's either fried or boiled. The cheese gyoza is a juicy option.

Location, location: Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast Highway (near Putt Putt and Pancake on the Rocks). You'll feel sorry for those dining anywhere else after you've stumbled out full and happy.
