How do you make improv even more impressive? Add music.
From Nov. 12-13, Magnet Theater presents the second annual
New York Musical Improv Festival, a celebration of comedy acts across the country that combine improv and singing.
Over the course of two, more than 13 teams from New York, Chicago, Washington, DC, and Las Vegas will converge on the Manhattan theater to create never-before-scene musical theater.
Participating troupes include
Baby Wants Candy, which distinguishes itself as the only musical improv group to perform with a fully improvised one-act musical with a full band; Choral Rage; Diamond Lion;
FACE; Jeff Hiller's Dream Team;
Jill Bernard's Drum Machine; The Made Up Musical, the longest running improvised musical in New York City; Miracle Baby; North Coast, the rocking
Reset List: An Improvised Rock Experience; Trudy Carmichael's Musical Mixer, where audience members can sign up to perform alongside the members;
VEAL; and Vox Pop.
