Everyone loves a show tune. Go on. Admit it.

If I were to sing a few bars of "You Are the One That I Want", "Sweet Transvestite" or "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", chances are you'd join in (or tell me to shut up). But you'd know those songs!

If you're one of literally millions of people around the world who loves a good musical, the Redcliffe Leagues Club and the Our Village Foundation are hosting 'Music of the Night Under the Big Top' on Thursday the 30th of October at the Redcliffe Leagues Club oval.

While that's one of the clunkiest titles for a show I've ever heard, the Our Village Foundation has an impressive reputation for putting on outstanding and truly amazing events - any of you check out the recent Redcliffe Festival or go to KiteFest 2013? Both were incredible.

Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm start, and attendees will be treated to a range of musical numbers from such well-loved musicals as 'The Phantom of the Opera', 'Grease', 'Les Miserables', 'Saturday Night Fever', 'The Lion King', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Mary Poppins' and more.

I've been lucky enough to have a sneak peek at one or two of the performances which have popped up as special treats at recent charity functions I've been to, and the guys can definitely sing. With the added flair of an outdoor, evening performance it should be quite an enchanting evening. Yes. Pun intended.

If you're tired of whiling away your Thursday evenings at a shopping centre, and are looking for something different that is almost sure to leave you with a warm feeling deep inside, take a trip to the Redcliffe Peninsula and enjoy what will no doubt be a wonderful evening of song and dance.

Adult tickets are $30, and concession tickets are $25.

The beautiful thing about any event hosted by the Our Village Foundation is that the proceeds go to benefit their '101 Causes' initiative. The '101 Causes' provides financial support to community groups and social clubs around the Moreton Bay region that tirelessly serve their communities.
