It's easily accessible being only seven kilometres from Brisbane's CBD. There is ample parking for private vehicles and there is public transport to the site.It hosts the largest collection of Australian Native rainforest plants in the world.

Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens has a tropical greenhouse dome. It has Japanese Gardens that have been designed by a leading Japanese landscape architect. He has incorporated water features including water falls and undercover areas to just sit and relax and enjoy the ambiance. There are cacti and other giant structural plants in the arid zone. You will find a scented garden which includes many culinary herbs.

The Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens are in fact a living museum of plants from Australia and all over the world.

There is a restaurant overlooking a large grassed area and the lake. If you are a lover of plants, there are regular displays and exhibitions held by various interest groups in the grounds.

I love plants, and I also love photography. The two go together like hands in a glove at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens.

My main dilemma when organising a photography session at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens is deciding where to go to shoot. The gardens are very extensive and there are so many great locations from which to choose. The only solution is to return on numerous occasions and explore different parts of the gardens.

In my opinion the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens are the best photography venue in Brisbane for photographing people and plants together.
