From the 12th of January to the 20th of February, the
OpenAir Cinema will be returning to the stunning location of Mrs Macquaries Point.
The action will be taking place on a giant screen that features the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and skyscrapers as its backdrop. Sounds better than a multiplex, doesn't it?
A different movie will be showing on each of the 37 nights. And with the
program including Aussie fare like
Bran Nue Dae, recent hits like
Mao's Last Dancer, classics like
North By Northwest, foreign offerings like
Broken Embraces and previews like
Invictus, there should be something for everyone.
But a word of warning:
don't delay buying tickets. Sales commence tomorrow (December 17) at 9am – and if past years are anything to go by, the season will sell out very, very quickly. Most likely, the metaphorical doors will be slammed shut some time on Thursday. For more information, check out the
FAQ.
If you are lucky enough to secure a ticket, why not make a night of it by having something to eat and drink at the
bar/restaurant before your film? Fine food and drink seems to taste even finer when you're enjoying it by Sydney Harbour.
