There's pizza and then there is (say it with an Italian accent and wave your hands about) PIZZA!

Don't you agree?

is new. Some might say courageous, opening up almost opposite another Italian Cucino, in the village of Seddon (a suburb of Melbourne, really only about nine kilometres from the CBD, but it is known as a village nevertheless).

Seddon's Victoria Street has recently become home to a number of new eateries and they all seem to be doing quite well. is one of them.

They pride themselves on doing authentic pizza. Not the Americanised, thick crust, overly cheesy type with many toppings. The range is good; from the napoli we all know and love, to messina frutti di mare (mussels, scallops, calamari..) and plenty of others. The dough must be soft & pliable with a moist centre and a "cornacione" (crust) that is light and fluffy and should be folded when you eat it according to their menu.

They delivered on the pizza. It really was amazing and everything they said it would be. Just the right amount of toppings, and easily folded over, soft in the centre with that distinguishing wood fired taste.

Of course they also do salads, entrees, mains (such as fish, steak, veal, scotch fillet) and pasta. Pizzas range in price from $15 to $24, entrees up to $19, salads up to $23, and pastas up to $29.

Desserts include nutella doughnuts, italian doughnuts, crepes, calzone and tirimisu. The wine list includes some italian wines as well as local ones. Coffee was nice too.

Service is exceptional. From the moment you are greeted and seated right, through to your fond farewell. We were impressed by the professionalism and friendliness. It's a nice space to sit in. On the night we were there, it got busier, yet we had no problem hearing each other.

They are also open for breakfast and the great news is, you can start your day with the desserts: nutella doughnuts, ricotta cannoli, nutella crepes. If eggs are your thing, you're spoilt for choice. Although we were not there for breakfast - we noted they had items such as pancetta and eggs, smoked salmon and eggs, bruchetta with eggs and an item called Mozzarella Eggs Al Forno (oven baked pancetta, mushrooms, butterbeans, eggs, mozzarella and crusty ciabatta). Hot food ranged from $9 to around $15. Judging from the quality and popularity of this , you can be confident they'd all be pretty good!
