It's that time of the year again - the Adelaide Fringe is back, bigger and better than ever! While the city has been transformed into the ultimate playground for people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds, it is important to remember of the vital businesses that have specifically opened their doors for us to re-fuel and re-energize during this festive season.

One such spot is for people with a soft spot for delicious and refreshing alcoholic drinks, particularly of the Gin kind. Moxie Bar is Adelaide's newest, specialist Gin pop-up bar that has found its residence on East Terrace. Located on the top floor of East Terrace Continental, resonates with strong, European vibes and is decorated with vintage artefacts. Two huge pocket watch-style clocks reside in the bar and balcony, which have been set to represent the times in Paris and London respectively.

Unlike the traditional bars found scattered around Adelaide, Moxie is unique in the sense that it does not have a set menu. Using infused Gins that have been carefully crafted in-house, customers are invited to provide those behind the bar with what they are feeling and voila! You will be presented with a concoction that will best capture your taste buds' attention.

The location of the bar, whose balcony overlooks the Garden of Unearthly Delights, makes it a prime space to enjoy a couple of bevvies either before or after the performances / shows as part of the Adelaide Fringe.

The bar is a creative project that has been put together by Hume Walker (Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Cabaret, ZuZu Mamou), who has partnered with Hendricks Gin to bring a sense of boozy magic to the Adelaide Fringe festival period. Inspired by recipes that were learnt and refined through their travels, the South Australian team at Moxie works hard in creating unique and original flavours of Gin and liqueur.

The selection of Gin at their little but versatile bar consists of a range of flavours, such as quandong and Sichuan peppers. Not a fan of Gin? Fret not, because you can find a generous variety of local craft beers, ciders, and wines as well! Apart from that, customers can also enjoy special events such as guest DJ sessions, along with Gin tasting masterclasses.

Special thanks to the for welcoming me with their delicious cocktails. Make sure you check out the bar while you visit the many Adelaide Fringe shows in the city.
