Head to Point Park, Yarra's Edge for a fabulous outdoor cinema experience under the stars while enjoying gorgeous waterfront views on Thursdays from 20 February to 13 March 2014. The best thing about it is that it's absolutely free.

So grab your picnic blanket, your favourite picnic food, and a couple of drinks and head to the site from 6.30pm. If you don't feel like a picnic don't worry. Allow the various cafes and restaurants to delight your palate. Whether you feel like a quick snack, authentic Japanese or Italian, I'm sure there's something here to satisfy your appetite.

In addition to free movies, there will be a free return ferry service from Federation Square for the first 120 attendees, free bean bag hire for the first 100 guests, and free car parking at Gate 12. Site opens from 6.30pm and movies start at 8.30pm, but get there early to snag a good spot.

Here's a list of what's on:

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - 20 February
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a British comedy-drama film directed by John Madden. Featuring a top-notch ensemble cast of Judi Dench, Celia Imrie, Bill Nighy, Ronald Pickup, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson and Penelope Wilton as a group of British retirees, the movie follows these travellers to India where they take up residence in a retirement hotel, the Marigold Hotel. Upon arrival, however, they discover that the hotel is not as luxurious as its advertisements. Nevertheless, they realise that life and love can begin again. [BREAK]

The Sapphires - 27 February
Directed by Wayne Blaire, The Sapphires is an Australian musical comedy-drama about the journey of four vivacious, young and gifted Australian Aboriginal women Gail (Deborah Mailman), Julie (Jessica Mauboy), Kay (Shari Sebbens) and Cynthia (Miranda Tapsell). Inspired by a true story, these women form a musical group called The Sapphires and travel to Vietnam in 1968 to entertain the U.S. troops. This is a movie about love, friendship and war, which is guaranteed to be entertaining and enjoyable. [BREAK]

Finding Nemo - 6 March
This is one of my favourite animated films of all time. And if you have kids, make sure you bring them along for this fantastic movie about an overprotective clownfish named Marlin (Albert Brooks) and his son Nemo (Alexander Gould) who has been taken from his home and ended up in a fish tank in a dentist's office. Marlin then embarks on a dangerous adventure with Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) in search for his son. Directed by Andrew Stanton, Finding Nemo is a brilliant underwater adventure featuring unforgettable characters, lots of humour and heartfelt emotion. Don't miss this movie!

The Great Gatsby - 13 March
I haven't seen this movie, but I've heard fantastic things about it. The Great Gatsby is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel of the same name and is a story about the attraction of fame and fortune, and the unbreakable bond of first love. Directed by Baz Luhrmann, this movie tells the story of Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) who moves to New York to take a job as a bond salesman. He meets his mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) and gets caught up in the fascinating world of the super rich.
