Online entries close at 4.00pm Friday 3 March, 2017.

March is definitely shaping up to be Mooloolaba's marathon month! With all the energy-driven activities that have been organised, there is surely something for everyone, whether you're an athlete or a spectator.

The Mooloolaba Mile, presented by Milk & Co, is Queensland's number one short course ocean swim. Globally the One Mile (1.6km) is the most sought after open water distance as it's attainable for beginners and an excellent time trial for advanced swimmers.

The Mooloolaba Mile programme now includes a 3.0km long course, an ideal distance for experienced swimmers and aspiring triathletes wanting to push their limits.

Package entries are available to swim in the 3.0km Long Course and the Mooloolaba Mile later in the morning.

The Events

Mooloolaba Mile (1.6km)

The Mooloolaba Mile starts at Mooloolaba's south-eastern end (The Spit) and follows an M-shaped route north towards the finish line. The first turn is located directly out from the start near the Mooloolah river mouth. Halfway, the course brings swimmers back towards the breakers and then out again to the final turn.

Mooloolaba 3.0 (3.0km)

If you're an experienced ocean swimmer or wanting to push your limits for that next triathlon, then why not give the Mooloolaba 3.0km a try. 3000m in the ocean is not for the faint-of-heart but will give you the opportunity to attempt a swim beyond the traditional ocean swim distances.

Mooloolaba Half Mile (800m)

This one's just up my alley! An achievable distance for youngsters wanting to test themselves in the open ocean or for groups of friends, who just want to say "I did it", the Mooloolaba Half Mile (800m) doesn't need much training and should be heaps of fun. I must remember to pack my floaties!

The Mooloolaba Half Mile joins the Mooloolaba Mile course at the halfway mark and round the final turn before hitting the beach for a sprint to the finish. And…an incredible feeling of achievement.

Junior Giants (300m and 800m)

The Junior Giants Series is a new opportunity for children ages 8 to 16 years to compete against other swimmers in their own age group.

There is a short and long course to choose from:-

300m Kids Dash (8 - 16 years); and
800m Junior Giants (10 - 16 years)

Family and friends are encouraged to share this fun experience and to swim alongside the children in the 300m dash. The 800m event will use the same course format at the 800m Half Mile event.

Every participant will receive a free event t-shirt and an opportunity for a signing session with our Olympic legend, Michael Klim and other special guests.

Stretch Yoga

Join Kat Harding, the yoga-guru before you swim, for a free session of warming up and stretching specially designed for swimmers. There'll also be yoga for beginners and a few advanced poses for those experienced yogi-bears. All you need is a beach towel.
