Affordable Japanese, hearty serves, a stone's throw away from Prahran station!

Craving affordable Japanese with portions that won't leave you hungry? Jump on the Sandringham line and alight at Prahran. You will find Mizu located just across the road at 95 Greville Street.

This small corner restaurant serves up delicious value for money meals. Fast preparation and friendly service allow you to enjoy lunch and dinner from a 10 page extensive menu including soups, noodles, sashimi, rice base dishes, and desserts.

Recommended by colleagues: the mixed entree – a selection of appetisers created daily at the chef's discretion. This day it included flavoursome and succulent teriyaki chicken pieces, agedashi tofu on bean shoots, and calamari. For the vegetarian diner there was Katsu curry, a hearty serving of a range of vegetables coated in a sweet delicate sauce, served on a bed of rice.

Recommended by me: the Unadon set – grilled eel on a bed of rice, served with miso soup, and pickled radish, paired with the house sake (not for the faint hearted).

They have excellent and fast service and split bills are allowed. They can accommodate groups of up to 20 and are FODMAP friendly, with gluten free and vegan options available.

I love places with welcoming staff with friendly smiles, and a relaxed no-watching-the-clock attitude. So this gets a must frequently go here tick of approval. Check it out now.
