Miss Sloane is a political thriller dealing with the high-stakes world of political power brokers. Elizabeth Sloane is a formidable lobbyist in Washington going up against the powerful gun industry.

The story is spearheaded with a bold performance by Jessica Chastain. Miss Sloane is a gripping tale with plenty of intrigue and sometimes clever twists. The characters are unlikable, but this movie is all about money, power and manipulation.

Miss Sloane is ruthless and smart but cross ethical boundaries without conscious and views people as simply resources. She often lectures her younger staff members: "Lobbying is about foresight, anticipating your opponent's moves, and devising counter-measures. The winner walks one step ahead of the opposition. It's about making sure you surprise them and they don't surprise you."

It's hard to image Miss Sloane as a real person with no remorse. "You're a piece of work, Miss Sloane."

She sure is. The most unsatisfying fact about this movie is that we never find out about Elizabeth's backstory or history to understand why she is so hell-bent on winning.

Miss Sloane is a political thriller with a fierce lead character you're not going to forget in a long time.
