Victoria's hottest dollies are getting all done up for the
Miss Pinup Australia state finals at the
Ferntree Gully Hotel on Sunday, 20th November. These vintage vixens will be channelling their inner glam goddess in a live show that will help decide which luscious lady will go in the running for the title of
Miss Pinup Australia.
Classic pinups such as Betty Grable provide inspiration to today's retro stars.
The finals categories include Miss Perfect Pinup, for all glamour girls, Miss Illustrated, for minxes with ink, Miss Classic, for the more mature maidens, Miss Vava Voom, for curvaceous coquettes, and, for the first time, Mr Pinup Australia, for the lads with the look. Competitors will showcase a range of styles and poses, all without wavering from their vintage personas, and perform in the talent section of the event, with anything from a burlesque routine to an impersonation of Marilyn Monroe.
It's a serious contest for those who live by the vintage creed, with more than $20,000 of prizes up for grabs, but a highly entertaining event for those who love a good show – especially one filled with pretty prints, pin curls and girdled glamour-pusses. Also adding to the atmosphere of yesteryear fun is
Atomic Hi-Tones, a local rockabilly band sure to get the skirts a-swirling during their sets.
Get into the theme with a rockin' retro ride.
Tickets to the show can be purchased from
Moshtix and are $30 including booking fee. Doors open at 1:30pm so be sure to get your glam on before then – after all, it's a great excuse to get into the vintage theme, get dolled up, and have a hell of a swell time.
