The 'Million Dollar Mermaid: Annette Kellerman' exhibition shows a collection of stunning costumes, memorabilia and movie footage related to Annette Kellerman, enabling you to gain a better understanding of her life, inspiration and personality.

Annette Kellerman championed a practical one-piece swimsuit for competitive swimming and challenged the norm when female bathers were wearing cumbersome garments in that era. So, their exhibition presents a rare opportunity for visitors to see various styles of one-piece swimsuit worn by her.

It's captivating and amazing, particularly when I watched the movie footage such as her stunning performance including her underwater ballet dance combined with spectacular high-diving.

She's so talented and fearless, and these qualities were manifested in her courage to perform dangerous stunts and her advocacy of the right of women to wear a one-piece swimsuit.

Added to this, the highlight of the exhibition is certainly the beautiful costume from Million Dollar Mermaid, whereby Esther Williams portrayed Annette Kellerman in the film.

Kellerman's commitment to setting women free to swim was reflected by designing her own line of one-piece swimsuits, which became her trademark. The 'Annette Kellermanns', as they were known, represented a birth of modern swimwear for women.
