This year is the 22nd anniversary of the Midsumma Pride March, a yearly parade and party that acknowledges and honours the people of the LGBTQ community within Melbourne.

Participants are encouraged to do more than just march: you can dance, sing, strut, catwalk or anything else that will help you stand out while you stand up for what you believe in.

Everyone is invited to be as fabulous as you can - remember, the more extravagant you are, the more influence you will have, and the more you will be remembered! Exposure is a key element at Pride March, to remind everyone that you're there to be seen and heard.

If marching, singing, dancing, etc isn't your thing, you can still come along to Fitzroy Street in St Kilda and cheer on those who are marching.

Afterwards, everyone is welcome to join in the festivities held at the Catani Gardens, where the march will end, for a family-friendly picnic in the park which will feature food (of course), a bar, and a stage!

Anyone who is wishing to march must register by December 1st, which you can do so here .

Whether you're a member of the LGBTQ community or an ally, and whether you're coming with a group of friends or just yourself, everyone is welcome at the Midsumma Pride March!
