We're putting out the question to all of Melbourne's love birds, because we're looking for Melbourne's most romantic spot. We want those places that make your heart flutter, or those experiences that just can't be beaten. Paris may just be the city of love, but we're certain Melbourne is full of its own share of lovely places too.
The Royal Botanic Gardens are definitely a romantic place to try. Wander the paths with your significant other, marvelling at all the beauty around you, or prepare a picnic to enjoy on the lush green grass. If you want to score extra points, bring a date here for a visit to the Moonlight Cinema. It puts regular movie dates to shame, and definitely doubles the romance.
You might enjoy admiring nature, but find that the Yarra River is the most romantic spot. Why not take a private boat ride, or just admire the sites from the riverbank. You could even try the Spirit of Melbourne Cruising Restaurant, and get a candlelit table for two, as you watch the river wash past you. You'll probably be able to find a spark if you head along to the Yarra River.
The beach is also a popular place for young lovers to head. Watching the sunset at St. Kilda Beach could be your idea of a dream date. If sunsets get your heart racing, then you could also check out our readers tips for where to find the Best Sunset in Melbourne.
Otherwise, you might find that Melbourne is romantic enough in its own right, and rambling through laneways is a romantic experience that just can't be beat. You might have found a romantic patisserie that ignites passion, or a bar that has a romantic table just for two.
We know that Melbourne has charm, and plenty of it, but does it have romance in its streets and laneways? Sometimes you'll find a place is romantic simply because of the memories you've made there. Other places ooze with romance, even when you're wandering through them all alone. Let us know the spots that have a special place in your heart, and help us find the most romantic spot in Melbourne.

Me and my husband shared our first kiss on Princes' Bridge- it was 3am, and though it was December, it was quite cool, and this amazing fog drifted in from the sea, making everything else seem to disappear-truly romantic. I don't think anything else could beat Princes' Bridge!

City Tiler, Port Melbourne. A restored courthouse with exposed stone walls, flickering candles and home-cooked Mediterranean treats. Live music and Sangria add to the ambience of complete escapism. Love this hidden gem to pieces.

Hosier Lane near Flinders St Station is pretty nice :) Its a lane full of really amazing graffiti works that creates a lovely mood for a couple. There's also a lot of restaurants down the lane hidden in the graffiti so its fun trying to find the real doors

Sky High in the Dandenongs. After enjoying a beautiful scenic drive through the forestry you come to Sky High where you can view most of Melbourne from one look out platform. The cafe/restaurant allows you to enjoy a hot chocolate as you each spot familiar buildings or landscapes from the warmth of the building or simply sit, snuggled up in the car and listen to your favorite music as the sun sets :-)

Warrandyte is a great "no-pressure" first-date place. Grab a take-away coffee from the cafe that's near the playground (can't remember its name) and go for a walk along the river. It's so unique, lovely and beautiful you'll almost be guaranteed a second-date. If conversation stalls you can say hi to all the happy dogs going for walks.
