There is nothing like the thrill of discovering a hidden gem in the middle of the city. Melbourne has many fantastic bars that are kept well hidden. These are some of my favourites.
Rooftop Bar, Level 7, 252 Swanston Street
This bar can be found above The Toff in Town and offers great views of the surrounding city. It serves some solid burgers and has some great beers too.
The Red Hummingbird, Level 1, 246 Russell Street
With only a red bird cage above the door to give away the location of this bar, it can be easy to miss. They serve good cocktails here and also have a rooftop bar which can be a great place to spend a Friday night.
Section 8, 27-29 Tattersalls Lane
Down an small lane and near the equally popular
Camy Shanghai Dumpling, Section 8 is a happening place on the weekend. The drinks and seating are basic, but with DJs on the weekend and a good crowd, you are sure to have a good night.
